VAN HALEN concert Review 3-5-12

AMAZING!

Lets start with the Opener:
The legendary Kool & The Gang! I forgot how many hits they had!!
From the 70's staple "Jungle Boogie" to 80's power hits Ladies Night, Fresh and Celebration, these guys can bring it..Absolutely ageless for a band from New Jersey who first formed in 1964!
Van Halen: Opened with Unchained then launched into the pulsating Power chord of my all time favorite, Running with the Devil: A+
The Hits: You Really Got Me, Panama and Jump! A
The ROCK staples: Ain't Talkin' Bout' Love, Hot For Teacher, Ice Cream Man Everybody Wants Some and Pretty Woman (Orbison classic)* A++
New Album cuts: Tattoo! now a fan of the new song hearing it live* other cuts Rockin' B+
The Players: Eddie A++, Alex A++, Wolfie' on Bass A+
The Showman: Diamond Dave-A+

Diamond Dave was trim, athletic and energetic. for 56, he's STILL a Rocker but at times his vocal was lacking the power of his youthful yesteryear..Camaraderie with his band mates was bright, energetic and positive: Give him an A for passion and execution! A

Alex Van Halen Drum solo: A+

Eddie guitar solos: A++ (never been more discouraged learning guitar presently)**
Set list: Powerful with one song leading into the next**LOVED it: A+
NO Encore: PERFECT! Just announce the last song and play the damn thing!!! A+++
Crowd: 20,000 Energetic and Rockin' fans, no drunkin' mayhem: A+
Overall Rating: A+
